Melissa Sloan, the British mom known for her extreme tattoo obsession, stunned the internet recently after covering up her iconic face ink for a viral photo — and she looked nearly unrecognizable.
With over 800 tattoos, many of them covering her face, Sloan has spent more than a decade building her unconventional look, often getting inked up to three times a week — sometimes in her van.
But in a bold experiment, the 46-year-old used thick foundation to temporarily conceal her tattoos. The reaction? Total shock — not just from fans, but from her own family.
“My kids freaked out,” Sloan told the Daily Star. “Even my dog looked twice. My partner said, ‘Get your tattoos back — it doesn’t suit you.’”
She said her youngest child was so upset, she cried. “It scared her,” Sloan admitted.
Despite the online praise for her makeup-covered appearance, Sloan isn’t swayed. “People said I looked beautiful before, but I like it crazy,” she declared.
Sloan’s tattoos have come at a cost. She says five of her seven children no longer speak to her, and she struggles to find employment. “I applied to clean toilets and still got turned away because of my tattoos,” she shared.
Still, Sloan remains unapologetic. “It’s my life,” she says. “I can just swap and change.”
While her bold makeover proved she could look dramatically different, one thing’s clear — Melissa Sloan embraces her inked identity, no matter what anyone else thinks.
