After a flash flood in Texas claimed 104 lives—including 27 girls at a summer camp—Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman responded not as celebrities, but as grieving parents.
“They were just little girls. Somebody’s daughters. Just like ours,” Keith said.
The couple donated $250,000 to the Texas Disaster Relief Fund and announced a benefit concert, Rise for Texas, featuring stars like Blake Shelton and Alan Jackson. All proceeds will go to families and rebuilding efforts.
In a deeply personal gesture, every family who lost a daughter received a silver locket engraved with “She was here. She mattered. She is forever,” along with a handwritten letter from Keith and Nicole.
Keith will also debut a new song, Hold On to Heaven, in tribute.
Their quiet compassion reminded many that behind the fame, they are simply parents mourning alongside others—and ensuring these young lives are never forgotten.
