A devastating accident in Manitoba, Canada, claimed at least 15 lives on Thursday when a bus carrying elderly passengers collided with a truck at an intersection near Carberry, about 170 kilometers west of Winnipeg.
The group was headed to a local casino for what should have been a day of leisure. Instead, it turned into one of the deadliest road tragedies in recent memory.
Deputy Police Officer Rob Hill of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed the heartbreaking loss, saying, “At least 15 individuals were pronounced dead as a result of the collision.”
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash as the community mourns.
