Tika’s life was hanging by a thread when a compassionate U.S. Border Patrol agent found her near Eagle Pass, Texas. Starved, wounded, and barely clinging to life after being attacked and abandoned, she seemed moments from death. But that one act of kindness changed everything.
The agent rushed Tika to safety, and The Buddy Foundation quickly stepped in. They described her as being in “absolute agony,” with deep facial wounds and a frail body. At the vet clinic, Tika was placed on fluids and monitored around the clock. For days, she couldn’t stand or eat — but she slowly began to fight back. A small flick of her tail, a glance, and finally, she accepted food. It was the beginning of her healing.
Once stable, Tika moved in with a loving foster mom who helped her blossom. She made friends, rediscovered joy, and earned the nickname “Princess Tika” for her sweet and regal spirit. Even after being diagnosed with epilepsy, she refused to let it dim her light.
Eventually, her foster mom knew what Tika already felt — she was home. The adoption was made official, and Tika’s days are now filled with comfort, love, and second chances.
Her journey, from suffering to serenity, is a powerful reminder: compassion saves lives. Today, Tika isn’t just surviving — she’s thriving.
