A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Washington after three young sisters — Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia Decker, 5 — were found dead during a court-approved visit with their father, Travis Decker, 32, a homeless former soldier.
The girls were reported missing Saturday after Travis failed to return them to their mother, Whitney Decker. When she couldn’t reach him, police were called. By Monday, the children’s bodies were discovered near Travis’s truck at a remote campsite. Their wrists were tied, and plastic bags covered their heads. Autopsies confirmed they died from asphyxiation.
Travis fled and is now wanted for triple homicide and kidnapping.
The case has sparked national outrage and renewed urgent calls for reform in child custody decisions, veteran mental health support, and child protection oversight.
