Tiamat Legion Medusa, formerly known as Richard Hernandez, has stunned the internet by revealing photos of themselves before undergoing an extreme transformation into what they now call a “genderless dragon.”
Once a successful banker in Texas, Medusa left the corporate world after a dream involving snakes sparked a journey of radical self-discovery. Over the years, they’ve undergone extensive body modifications — including facial tattoos, horn implants, a split tongue, and the removal of their ears and nose — spending around $80,000 so far.
Their goal? To become the world’s first genderless reptilian. They now use they/them pronouns and plan further procedures, including replacing their teeth and removing their genitalia to fully embody their non-human identity.
Reactions online have been mixed, though many have come to their defense:
“Let them be happy,” one user wrote. “God is the only one who can judge them.”
Medusa’s transformation has caused personal hardships, particularly with their adult son, who cut ties after they began their transition. Despite the distance, Medusa hopes he sees them online and understands their journey is also meant to inspire him.
Diagnosed with HIV in 1997 and having faced years of abuse, Medusa views their transformation as both healing and empowering. “This is my way of dealing with life,” they said. “I’m shedding the parts of me that were hurt.”
Though they describe themselves as a “venom-spitting dragon,” they insist the venom is symbolic — a reflection of how they treat others based on kindness or cruelty.
Now, Medusa dreams of finding love — perhaps even with someone who shares their reptilian identity — but says they remain open to human connection, just without judgment.
Their journey is far from over, but one thing’s clear: for Medusa, becoming a dragon is about freedom, identity, and finally living life on their own terms.
