Ava Ann Marie Tabor was a joyful two-year-old with sky-blue eyes and a smile that lit up the world. She loved to dance, help in the kitchen, and sing in the car. Her parents, Levi and Kylie, cherished every moment with her in their home in De Queen, Arkansas.
But on March 4, 2025, their world was shattered. Ava was left in the care of 19-year-old Wesley Davis, who called for help when she became unresponsive. Despite being airlifted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Ava died from severe injuries. Davis later confessed to beating her.
What began as a babysitting visit turned into a nightmare. Davis was initially charged with domestic battery, but after Ava’s death, the charge was raised to first-degree murder. The news devastated the family and shook the entire community.
In a heart-wrenching Facebook post, Ava’s mother wrote, “YOU TOOK MY WORLD. YOU TOOK EVERYTHING I LIVED FOR… I LOVE YOU, AVA. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MOMMY’S BABY.”
Judge Bryan Chesshir issued a no-contact order and set Davis’s bond at $1 million. As the legal process unfolds, the family continues to mourn and fight for justice.
In the midst of heartbreak, Ava’s family made the courageous decision to donate her organs—giving other children a second chance at life.
Ava’s funeral was held on March 13, a final goodbye to a little girl who brought joy to so many in her short time here. Her story is a painful reminder of the need to protect our children and demand justice for the voiceless.
Though gone, Ava’s light lives on—in memory, in love, and in the lives she saved. May she rest in peace.
