Martha, a working mom, always felt a twinge of guilt about sending her 4-year-old daughter Beverly to daycare. So when her mother-in-law Cheryl offered to watch Beverly once a week, it seemed like a blessing — a break for Beverly and a way to save on daycare.

Martha paused. Something didn’t feel right — and deep down, she wished she were just being overly cautious. But her instincts were telling her otherwise.
