A father’s love has no limits—and Derek Prue Sr. proved that in a powerful way to help his son feel more confident. When he noticed his son, Derek Jr., was self-conscious about a birthmark on his chest, Derek decided to get the same birthmark tattooed on his own body.
Without telling his son, Derek Sr. endured nine painful tattoo sessions, spending nearly 30 hours to have an exact replica inked across his chest and ribs. “I wanted him to know he’s not alone,” he said.
The touching moment came during a family trip to the pool. When Derek Sr. revealed the tattoo, his son lit up, smiled, and proudly took off his own shirt—something he’d always been too shy to do.
The tattoo became more than just ink; it became a symbol of love, acceptance, and the unbreakable bond between a father and his son.
