What began as a peaceful family hike ended in horror on Saturday, July 26, when Clinton and Cristen Brink were brutally murdered while walking a trail in Devil’s Den State Park, Arkansas. Their two young daughters, just 7 and 9 years old, witnessed the attack but escaped unharmed. They are now safe with relatives.
Emergency radio chatter revealed the grim moment officers found the couple’s bodies: “I’ve got two down here,” one voice reported.
Authorities are now searching for a suspect — a white man of medium build, wearing dark clothes, sunglasses, and a ballcap. He was last seen fleeing in a black sedan with a backpack. The park’s remote location and lack of cell service have made the investigation even more difficult.
Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders called the murders “heartbreaking” and pledged full support to law enforcement. Investigators are urging anyone with footage from the park to come forward — but not to post it online, to protect the integrity of the case.
As the search for the killer continues, a community mourns and two young girls begin the long road to healing.
